Avant-garde Steel Tower for Gujarat’s Fastest Growing City

Avant-garde Steel Tower for Gujarat’s Fastest Growing City

Oriental Manufacturers has won the contract for building a radical new steel tower for the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat. This modern landmark will have six structural blocks with stainless steel cladding and will use thrust bearings to transmit loads and robotic movements between adjacent blocks. The tower will also change colors with the help of an exclusive software.

We submitted our proposal and design to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (see video here )

The steel tower will be 25.2m tall stainless steel tower with six blocks, each of which will rotate at 15 degrees. The contract for this Rs 5.25 crore project was awarded to us and we are extremely excited about getting the tower made. It’s a one-of-a-kind project that will be challenging and interesting to make as well as great for people to see when it is installed in the city.

We are making the individual blocks in such a way so as to enable free movement on a rotational axis. This will change the shape of the tower according to the different angles of rotation of each block. The overall look and design of the tower is inspired by the famous Qutub Minar, Ashoka Pillar as well as some of India’s ancient temples. Even so, the tower has a modern and contemporary look that reflects the growth and change in the city of Ahmedabad. The progressive and culturally diverse people of Ahmedabad have the city a financial center set to rival Mumbai which is the current financial capital of India. Therefore the tower reflects their drive, ambition and

The design was created by the well-known National Institute of Design (NID) and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT – Delhi). After they submitted a feasibility report to the AMC, the civic body awarded this prestigious project to us. The final decision on where this moving tower can come up has not yet been taken. Watch this space for more details on that front!

Other financially successful cities like Dubai are also planning to have similar landmarks that help them stand out and also attract a lot of tourists. Since the whole concept and design of the tower is unique, it will surely put Ahmedabad on the world map.

look forward to see your comments,
